Rev. Lindsey Halpern-Givens
Married to husband Bob and mother of four, Lindsey Halpern-Givens is a life-long resident of Illinois and grew up in the Chicago Metro area. She attended Illinois State University studying Music Therapy and Special Education, earning her B.S. and M. S. Ed. degrees. After teaching High School, Lindsey became a faculty member of Elgin Community College where she taught Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language. It was there Lindsey began to understand teaching as a ministry and answered the call to the pastorate by returning to school and earning her Master of Divinity degree from Meadville/Lombard Theological School. Ordained in the United Church of Christ, Rev. Halpern-Givens completed her clinical pastoral training at Advocate Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington, IL. A Board Certified Chaplain and a certified licensed counselor; Lindsey was a hospital chaplain for ten years. She currently serves Faith Community United Church of Christ in Prairie Grove, IL as Pastor. She also has experience in youth and family ministries, women's ministries, mission work, and music ministries. Rev.
